‘Tis the season for giving! We are honored to be able to give back to our community by participating in the Elgin Middle School Winter Wishes Program for the second year in a row. The Elgin Middle School 5th-8th grade students get to make a wish – one for themselves and one for someone else. It can be as small as needing some socks and as big as wanting to fly in a helicopter. The community of Elgin, Oklahoma has gathered together and has made the wishes, big or small, come true for numerous children during the holiday season.
A-Team Carpet Clean’s contribution to the Winter Wishes program is to donate a portion of sales in the Elgin, Oklahoma area during the month of December. With every carpet cleaning that is scheduled in Elgin, we will donate 10% of the sales to help make more wishes come true.
This year is extra exciting for team member and Elgin resident, Niki Combee, as she explains in her own words:
This is the first year my son gets to participate in the Winter Wishes Program. He asked for a big stuffed teddy bear because he’s a weird child. What he should have wished for was some shoes LOL. They grant wishes usually starting in November but they have “wish week” in December. They have given kids a rabbit, puppy, chicken, shoes, coats, tickets to a Thunder game and OU/OSU basketball, ride in a helicopter, and a private jet ride to meet a country singer. One girl got a new grandma since hers had recently passed away so someone stepped up to be part of her life. Basically they have made it to where no wish is impossible and they can do the imaginable. This has really changed the community and showed what kindness can do. This year they gave every 8th grader $10 to do something for the community. One kid is fixing an elderly ladies roof! They have a Facebook page where they post all of their videos and updates: Elgin Middle School Winter Wishes.
